dernières années un succès phénoménal. Vanessa Van Durme a joué cette pièce plus de 250 fois cette année dans le monde entier et la présente régulièrement en France.
Comme elle l’avait fait dans son spectacle « Gardenia », une création à trois avec le chorégraphe Alain Platel et le metteur en scène Franck van Laecke, l’actrice rend ici, hommage à ceux qui souffrent d’être simplement différents. Son histoire de femme née garçon est universelle. Le thème de la transsexualité s’efface derrière l’histoire d’un être en quête d’épanouissement.
Elle raconte qu’adolescent dans les années 60, il/elle se rêvait jeune fille et fut victime de méchancetés et d’abus. Sans fard, elle évoque son opération quelques années plus tard au Maroc. Ce changement de sexe est une délivrance mais aussi le début d’une vie entre cabarets de travestis et prostitution.
